About Dirt collection lab
There was two main goals for the dirt collection lab were to collect our soil for the 2018 spring semester and to describe our soil so it can be used for our future labs throughout the course.
SAMPLE DESCRIPTIONThe soil sample that was collected was very rich in organics and nutrients. Soil is of a brown color. This made it very light and less dense than most soils. As can be seen in the image above, it was full of mulch, organic material, and vitamins. |
SAMPLE LOCATIONOur soil sample was dug up from Lab Partner Lenroy Cammock's home garden located in Olympia pointe, Lehigh Acres. It was collected from a home that has been built in the last 15 years so we tried collecting the top most section as it would provide the most nutrients and minerals that could be useful in our future labs. |

Looking at figure 1, we can see that throughout the week it was very fair weather. Since it is collected from a home garden and the soil is used for planting the soil has good drainage.
